Majene, Sulbarkita.com - Police Resort (Polres) Majene officially received a report and delegation of files from the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Majene, on suspicion of criminal acts of the General Election conducted by one of the legislative candidates for the West Sulawesi Provincial DPRD Majene.
Majene Police Chief AKBP Asri Effendy said that based on the evidence found, it could be suspected that Article 493 Jo Article 280 paragraph (2) letter "f" of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning general elections.
"The threat of imprisonment is a maximum of 1 year and a maximum fine of Rp. 12 million, "Asri said in a press release in the main lobby of Majene Police Headquarters, Jalan Jendral Sudirman, Labuang Village, Banggae Timur District, on Monday, March 4, 2019.
Bawaslu Majene discovered this alleged violation at the beginning of February 2019. The Bawaslu then conducted an investigation with elements of Integrated Law Enforcement (Gakkumdu).
Legislative Candidates (Legislative Candidates) of the Provincial DPRD who are also still serving as the chairman of the Majene DPRD are thought to involve the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in their campaign process in Tamo Ward, Baurung Village, East Banggae District.
Asri said that his party would address this case professionally in accordance with applicable law. "For the official determination of the suspect, based on the evidence that will be investigated starting today," Asri said accompanied by the Majene Police Criminal Investigator, AKP Pandu Arief Setiawan.
Asri believed that the Gakkumdu team had indicated that the alleged violation was based on preliminary evidence. But he said of course it would be proven through the investigation process. "Investigators are sure they can, before everything is submitted here," he said.
Meanwhile, Darmansyah who was suspected in this case claimed to be ready to undergo an ongoing legal process. "Because I have nothing wrong, I'm sure I'm not guilty," he said.
Darmansyah, who is still the chairman of the Majene DPRD, hopes that all parties can understand their status in the case. He recounted his current presence as Chairperson of the DPRD and not as a candidate for a member of the provincial DPRD. But because he felt unwell and could not attend the meeting, he then sent his aide who was still an ASN.
"Initially my presence was in the context of a fisherman party and as planned for the expansion of Tamo village from Baurung Village. And there is loose conversation. and I did not know what the material for the conversation was because I was not present, "he added," he said.
According to Darmansyah, the examination process that he is undergoing will not interfere with his activities as Chair of the Majene DPRD and candidates. "I want to be called by the Bawaslu to provide clarification, but unfortunately my status is immediately raised. But it's good if you want to enforce the right legal process, "he said.
