Majene, Sulbarkita.com - Despite the tsunami and earthquake disaster that ended in Palu, Sigi, and Donggala, Central Sulawesi, the Majene Regency Government, West Sulawesi, noted that the area still accommodates about a thousand victims of the disaster. They are scattered at various points, in refugee camps provided by the district government, and in the homes of their relatives.
Regent Majene Fahmi Massiara said it was in the maximum touch to help the refugees. Even though he has a large number, Majene District Government has facilities to help earthquake victims. "Starting from the village to the district government will pay attention to this matter," he said when distributing aid to the refugees at the Pamboang District Office, Monday, October 22, 2018.
In the same occasion, Fahmi at the same time appealed to refugees to take the school victims of children affected by the earthquake. The trick is to report to the government about their child's personal and educational status. Thus the Regency Government can help these children temporarily continue school in the evacuation area. "I hope no one will drop out of school," he said.
This week the Majene District Government provided assistance to 77 households or 181 refugees from Palu and Donggala. They live in two sub-districts, namely Tubo and Ulumanda.
