Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- Bukit Samang is the name of a village in Majene Regency, West Sulawesi Province. The village, which is located about 27 kilometers north of the central government of Majene Regency, has a variety of interesting tourist destinations to visit.
For example, the tourist attractions being developed by the village government are Apoang or Batu Meappar beach tourism, fishing tourism and Bukit Pelangi which provide swimming pool, water boom, gazebo and suspension bridge facilities.
Head of Bukit Samang Village, Andi Gunawan, said that the tour will be managed by the Village-Owned Enterprises (Bumdes), the aim of which is to increase the Village Samples (PADes) of Bukit Samang.
"We will build various types of tours to attract the interest of travelers coming to our village. The aim is to make Bukit Samang a tourist village," Gunawan said at his residence on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
At present, tourist attractions that have been built are Bukit Pelangi. The location is in the hills of North Apoang Hamlet or in the east of the village, which is about one kilometer from the Trans Sulawesi Road. But the long dry season that hit the Majene region resulted in the absence of water in the pond.
This will make the village government build a bore well to fill the water in the pond. "Previously, pool water was taken from rivers near tourist sites. As a result of the dry season, the water supply is running low, so we will make a wellbore there," said the 30-year-old village chief.
In addition to these obstacles, said Gunawan, to build other tourist attractions such as Batu Meappar, management permits have not been completed so that the construction of tourist attractions is awaiting time.
Gunawan also hopes that the development of these tourist attractions can motivate rural communities to take advantage of business opportunities and later tourism in the villages he leads can be loved by the wider community. "People can invest in the construction of tourist attractions," he said.
