Polewali Mandar, Sulbarkita.com — Ahmad Rasul, 10 years old, has been unconscious for a week at the Polewali Mandar Regional General Hospital. The son of Usman and Nurliah, residents of Bonra Village, Mapilli Subdistrict was treated intensively because of an infection, "According to my pediatrician's diagnosis there was an infection in his head," Nurlia said when met on Saturday, November 10, 2019.
Usman and Nurliah are now not only uneasy about their son's condition. The itinerant fish trader is also afflicted with anxiety because his son's medical expenses continue to swell. While they are running out of money, "Medical expenses at the hospital are Rp. 750 thousand per night, we have already paid medicine for more than Rp. 2 million, we don't know where we will get the money from again," Nurlia said.
Nurlia said that because Rasul was forced to enter the hospital as a general patient. That was caused by the poor pathway BPJS Health in the form of the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS), which has not been published until now. "Though I have entered Rasul's data since one year ago to the village office according to the procedure proposed by the Social Service," he said.
Nurlia was worried that the hospital would send her home because she no longer had money. Nurlia hoped that the Government could immediately intervene to help the treatment efforts of his son. "We can only hope that there will be benefactors," he said.
Meanwhile, a number of student activists tried to accompany Rasul to immediately get KIS. They have coordinated with Polman Dinsos and Polman Health BPJS but have not yet reaped the results, "They said the cards could not be directly issued," said Irwan, one of the students from Polman while claiming to have also taken to the streets to get donations directly from the community.
