Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- The tradition of "Messulekka" or sitting cross-legged together at an event is one of the traditions of manners in the Mandar community. Because the tradition shows the same fate and equality that can enhance a sense of togetherness.
For that reason, the West Sulawesi Provincial Government through the Halal Bi Halal 1440 Hijrah program practiced the "Messulekka" tradition held in the Auditorium room on the 4th floor of the Office of the Governor of West Sulawesi, Wednesday 12 June 2019.
According to the Governor of West Sulawesi, Ali Baal Masdar, the concept of the tradition of "Messulekka" is a new thing done in the activities of the West Sulawesi Government. He said, the purpose of the tradition is an effort to improve togetherness and populist nature. Besides that, it is also a way to accommodate all the invited guests.
"I, with Sekprov, think, with Messulekka able to accommodate more guests present and in it more nuances of togetherness appear," Ali Baal said.
On that occasion, Ali Baal also conveyed a development program that favored the welfare of the people of West Sulawesi, both in the education, health and economic sectors including building connectivity between regions and preserving the environment.
By that, the former Regent of Polman for two periods hoped for the support and participation of all stakeholders, including all the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) so that they could push themselves to develop West Sulawesi together.
"We hope that all parties will participate in supporting the government, which is certainly in accordance with their respective roles and do not violate the agreed-upon rules," Ali Baal said.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) of West Sulawesi, Muhammad Idris said, the implementation of Halal Bi Halal by applying the tradition of "Messulekka" this time can give meaning that in making changes must start from the same standard or togetherness so that there seems to be no difference between another.
"Messulekka is our culture, and usually so we are more communicative and can feel that there is no difference between one another," Idris said.
