Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Multaqo or meeting of Ulama, Habaib and Muslim Scholars in West Sulawesi Province held at the Hotel Maleo Town Square (Matos) Mamuju, Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Starting the meeting which was attended by around 100 people, a number of Ulama, Habaib and West Sulawesi Muslim Scholars gave remarks to the participants.
The first greeting was from the ulama represented by the Head of the Salafiyah Parappe Islamic Boarding School, KH. Abd. Latif Busyra. Then the greeting of the Muslim Scholars was represented by Wahyun Mawardi and remarks from Habib Ahmad Djafar Al-Mahdaly representing the Habaibs.
In their remarks, all invited the West Sulawesi people to maintain unity, peace, security, and post-election conduciveness which took place last April 17, 2019.
They also invited the public not to be provoked by groups that could divide the nation, including a movement which was later rumored by supporters of the presidential and vice presidential candidates, namely People Power.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Multaqo organizing committee, Sudirman AZ hoped that the activity would be beneficial and keep West Sulawesi in a safe, peaceful and conducive condition.
"We hope that this activity will be a tremendous blessing for our region, for our beloved religion, nation and country," said Sudirman who is also the Chairman of the GP Ansor, West Sulawesi.
Seven Points of the Multaqo Agreement
The meeting then agreed on 7 matters that were delivered directly by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Sulawesi Ulama Council (MUI), Dr. KH. Nur Husein. The agreement includes:
1. Reaffirming the agreement of the nation's founding fathers and prominent scholars that for buildings that are in line with Islam on Indonesian soil, NKRI is a form of state that is compatible with Islam that is Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin in Indonesia, and Pancasila is the basis of the nation and philosophy of the nation.
2. Inviting all Muslims in Ramadan 2019 so that together with increasing ukhuwah Islamiyah, establishing friendship, avoiding slander and division and forgiving each other through reconciliation. And expect to receive forgiveness from Allah SWT and victory on the Eid al-Fitr.
3. We appeal to Muslims not to be easily provoked by all forms of news that can divide the nation's unity and unity by prioritizing equality as human beings who are mutually related to one another.
4. We invite the Muslims to jointly reject all forms of invitation and action such as the invitation to conduct a demonstration on people power on the pretext of rejecting the results of the 2019 Presidential Election.
5. We invite the Muslims to support the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Oversight Body (Bawaslu) in completing their requirements as election organizers.
6. We invite Muslims to continue to support law enforcement against law-breakers by taking action against vigilantes.
7. We invite the Muslims to stay together in calling for the importance of maintaining the unity and unity of the nation, as well as maintaining the atmosphere of a peaceful society.
