Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- Politician of the United Development Party (PPP), Salmawati Djamado was appointed as Chairman of the Majene Regional Representative Council (DPRD) for the 2019-2024 period. The inauguration and taking of the oath was carried out in the plenary room of the Majene DPRD office, Jalan Ammana Pattolawali, Labuang Village, East Banggae District, Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Defenitively, he was asked to be the Chairperson of Majene Regional Legislative Assembly along with two other legislators who served as deputy chairman I and deputy chairman II. The position of deputy chairman I was held by the Democratic Party politician, M. Idwar. While the position of deputy chairman II was held by Adi Akhsan from the Golkar Party.
In the April 17 General Election, Salmawati won the most votes in the Electoral District (Dapil 1) of Banggae and East Banggae with 2,721 votes. PPP Majene led by Majene Regent Fahmi Massiara seated 5 legislators in the Majene DPRD.
Salmawati is the wife of the Majene Regent's wife, Fahmi Massiara namely Fatmawati. Before becoming a legislator, he was an honorary teacher in Muttima Kasih Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in Simullu, Baruga Village, East Baggae District. He is also the Chairperson of the Al Fajar Al Badya Majene Education Foundation which he founded two years ago.

Majene Regent Fahmi Massiara said the inauguration of Majene's DPRD leadership was a good and constitutional step.
