Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Student Association of Pitu Ulunna Salu (IPMAPUS) Mamuju Branch held a fundraiser for transportation costs for participants of the Non-Permanent Teachers (GTT) and Non-Permanent Employees (PTT), at the Simbuang Road intersection, Simboro District, Mamuju , on Sunday, January 13, 2018.
This was done because the management of the Mamuju IPMAPUS branch was concerned about the fate of the GTT / PTT whose salary was not paid by the West Sulawesi Provincial Government for the past 5 months. "We held this social action to help with their transportation costs following the demonstration," said Deputy Chairperson of the IPMAPUS Mamuju Branch, Riswandi, to Sulbarkita.com, on the sidelines of the action.
According to Riswandi, the West Sulawesi GTT / PTT Forum will hold a demonstration on January 15 in the West Sulawesi Provincial Parliament building demanding their rights. "The participants of the action are estimated to be 200 people from various districts in West Sulawesi, such as Central Mamuju, Majene and Polman," he said.
The fundraising action which was carried out from late afternoon to evening managed to raise funds of Rp. 443,500 thousand. "These funds will be immediately handed over to the West Sulawesi GTT / PTT Forum Coordinator for use in preparing their demonstrations," Riswandi said.
In his speech, Riswandi also thanked all the residents who contributed to the fundraising event. "Hopefully this can help the struggle of the West Sulawesi GTT / PTT in demanding the rights they should get as educators of the nation's generation," he said.
