Majene, Sulbarkita.com - The Harmony of Ulumandas Student Family (KKMU) urges Governor of Sulbar Ali Baal Masdar to refuse to move the Salutambung-Urekang shaft project from the starting point of the project on Mount Tandeallo. They think the road project should remain focused there because it is the main access that is still severely damaged.
"If we really think about the principle of the benefits to the public, it should be the worst road in Tandeallo that is prioritized," said Chairman of KKMU, Haidir Ali through his press release to Sulbarkita.com.
Earlier, representatives of Ulumanda community together with representatives of Parliament and Majene Regency visited the Public Works Department of Sulbar, Thursday, February 8. They asked PU Sulbar to change the starting point of the road project from Ba'ba Sondong in the Tandeallo Mountains to Langngoliang Village of Kabiraan.
They claim the request is based on the suggestion of a number of parties to facilitate access to the Ulumanda District center in the village of Kabiraan. The West Sulawesi Public Works Office responded to the request by submitting a letter requesting a change of point of zero to the Governor of West Sulawesi. "If you want to change the planning should be based on the decree of the governor," said Sundri, Head of Section of Maintenance and Supervision of Public Works Office of West Sulawesi.
Roads in Ba'ba Sondong, Tandeallo Mountains have not been covered with asphalt for years. This road is only a soil that often becomes soft during the rainy season. As a result the road becomes muddy so the vehicle access to the area is closed.
Chairman of the Student organization Tandeallo Aldi Village regrets the attitude of the parties who visited the Office of Public Works of West Sulawesi. They think they can not represent the wishes of the local people because they do not prioritize areas that need maximum road construction. "If the Governor Decree until rising, residents will continue to guide the sick to the Puskesmas because it can not be accessed by vehicles," said Aldi.
The rejection of the proposal also came from the Head of Popenga Village, Ulumanda District, Muslimin. According to him the worst point of Salutambung-Urekang shaft on Mount Tandeallo should not be ignored. "When compared to road damage in Langngoliang it is still less than Tandeallo," said Muslimin.
