Polman, Sulbarkita.com -- Head of Polman Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Aco Djalaluddin, complained about the condition of the Fire Extinguisher (Damkar) which could not function effectively. This caused him to be constrained when handling the fire disaster that occurred in Polman.
"This is our problem, so when there is a fire, we find it difficult to work optimally," Aco said when met in his office on Monday, April 1, 2019.
According to Aco, currently there are only two units of Damkar in the sub-district that function. Namely in District Tinambung and Wonomulyo. While in Campalagian Subdistrict, one unit of Damkar was severely damaged.
"Therefore, Damkar was put into a workshop for repairs. But the tool can only be found in Surabaya, East Java. So it must be sent there first, because it's not an ordinary car," he said.
Besides that, Aco said, Damkar sprayers were also damaged. The price of the equipment is quite expensive, which is 40 million rupiah per unit. Therefore, Aco advised the regional government to buy a new car that costs approximately 2 billion rupiah.
"Hopefully this year there will be procurement of Damkar. I have proposed, but we see the ability of the budget. When we went to Pekanbaru, Riau, we asked the price of the sprayer, the price was 40 million rupiah. So it's better to buy the original tool," he said.
Aco added, currently Damkar is under the auspices of the Satpol PP based on the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) as a working partner. "Damascus personnel themselves are still on standby. There are 82 personnel here, so at least one or two houses are burned out if there is a fire," he said.
Previously, the Regent of Polman, Andi Ibrahim Masdar, said that the less active Regional Task Force (UPTD) of Damkar provided information regarding the problem of the conditions of the Damkar fleet.
"There are two cars that are not used at home, only have tents installed and bought tools that cost 15 million rupiah per unit. If you buy 10 units, it does not disturb the regional budget," Ibrahim said when he was met while reviewing the new building of the Polman Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Wednesday, March 27.

That is during the reign of the two-period Regent, S. Mengga in 1980 - 1990. Where, currently there are 4 units of Damkar in the Capital of Polman, namely Polewali, which only functions one unit only. While the others suffered severe damage, including one Damkar unit in Campalagian District.
