Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com - The West Sulawesi Library and Archives Service has named literary activist Ridwan Alimuddin as Duta Baca Sulbar. Ridwan was also required to set a target so that the generation of West Sulawesi would become a generation that was rich in literacy.
According to Gadja Mada University graduates, the teaching staff or teachers are the first party he will meet. Because they are directly in touch with the younger generation in school, "They are the spearhead of education that meets students every day," he told Sulbarkita.com, Friday, August 24, 2015.
But Ridwan needed a stronger effort to approach the teachers in West Sulawesi. Seban cannot be denied, their interest in reading is still relatively low.
Nevertheless, Ridwan is optimistic that his efforts can produce results. Because he did not capitalize solely in approaching the educators. For the past four years Ridwan has focused on increasing public interest in reading.
One of Ridwan's most famous steps is to form the Mandar Library Fleet community. The 10-member community travels to coastal communities to the islands of West Sulawesi, to spread the "reading virus".
The method is quite unique, they use a boat transformed like a mobile library. The ship, which was full of books, had a number of national events due to its uniqueness.
Also from that community, the man born in 1978, was able to collect more than 10,000 books from donations, private property, to purchases. "Our collection of books about general knowledge that can support school lessons," he said.
Ridwan also hopes that his coronation as the West Sulawesi Reading Ambassador will encourage other communities to build communities, especially those engaged in literacy. So that you can work together with the community to create intelligent and confident Sulbar generation. "More and more volunteers are getting better," he said.
