Majene, Sulbarkita.com - The existence of illegal food stalls on the roadside in front of the Majene Central Market, West Sulawesi, has mushroomed in recent months. This does not only cause congestion but makes Central Market traders protest.
The reason is that they not only violated the rules of the place to sell, but also reduced the turnover of Central Market traders, "Selling them was sold first because the buyers didn't have to bother entering the market," said Asda, 50, one of the traders.
Asda pointed out the results of selling eggs in the market. After the wild stall is filled with food vendors, eggs only sell 10 to 20 shelves per day. Whereas before they could sell eggs 40 to 50 shelves.
"Just before Eid Al-Adha, we can usually sell 200 racks, but now there are at most 30 racks every day," he said while hoping the government would immediately intervene in order to curb the illegal stalls.
However, Rahmad, 40 years old, one of the traders in front of the Central Market denied him illegal trade. Because he has obtained permission from the Department of Transportation (Dishub) Majene for a long time.
Rahmad, who sells eggs on his car, also paid a levy of Rp10,000 to the Transportation Agency, Rp.4,000 for the Dispenda, and a Rp5,000 cleaning fee to the market manager.
But Rahmad's statement was denied by the Head of the Transportation Agency Majene Mithhar Thala Ali. According to him, Transportation Agency has often warned them not to sell in front of the Central Market. "(Regarding payment) I don't know that. I will confirm it to the officer below," said Mithhar
