Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com - Street Vendors (PK5) who sell in front of the Regional Office, Jalan Abdul Malik Pattana Endeng, Rangas Village, Simboro District will be relocated to the West Sulawesi Provincial Government. This was because the traders were accused of violating Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
Head of the Transportation Agency, West Sulawesi Province, Khaeruddin Anas said that the 63-person traders had disrupted the traffic lane, which could cause road accidents. "They use the shoulder of the road to sell," he told Sulbarkita.com, at the office of the Governor of West Sulawesi, Jalan Abdul Malik Pattana Endeng, Rangas Village, Simboro District, Tuesday, January 22, 2018.
Besides that, Khaeruddin considered the relocation an effort to implement the program "Mamuju Mapaccing" or clean Mamuju. "As a provincial capital, Mamuju must not look shabby," he said. So that is a step that must be done. "We are trying to organize this urban area to make it more beautiful and comfortable," Khaeruddin said.
Nevertheless, Khaeruddin has not been able to ensure a new location for these traders. However, location determination was charged to the Rangas District Government. "We give up to 1 week ahead to find a suitable location for traders," Khaeruddin said.
Meanwhile, Usman, 39 years old, one of the traders said, he realized the mistake. Therefore, he was willing if the government carried out the relocation of his merchant stalls. "Actually, we are ready to be moved, provided the government provides a new place," he said.
Usman, who has worked with his in-laws for the past 2 months on the typical Jepa Mandar tribe, hopes that the government will provide a place that is truly feasible to sell, even though he considers the location of the sale at this time very strategic. "In addition to the main route, the selling location is also close to regional offices. Many employees eat at our place and our average income is Rp. 50 thousand per day, "he said.
