Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- The Mamuju Regency Government responded to residents' complaints regarding the condition of the perforated road located on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Karema Village, Mamuju District. The protest was carried out by residents by planting banana trees in the middle of the road.
Mamuju Regent, Habsi Wahid, said that his party did not turn a blind eye to various community complaints that were of an emergency nature. "We must be responsive in responding to all potential that can harm the interests of many people," he said after opening a community information group training program conducted by the Mamuju Communication, Information and Coding Service, at D'maleo Hotel Jalan Yos Sudarso, Binanga Sub-District, Mamuju on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
However, Habsi hopes that the community can be patient, because the effort to realize infrastructure development, including its maintenance, requires no small amount of money.
"By him, everything is done in stages. Given budgetary capabilities are also limited. Even so, infrastructure development remains one of the priority sectors that will be a major concern in the context of accelerating development," he said.

Responding to the residents' protest actions, not until 24 hours did the Mamuju Public Works Agency (PU) immediately take action to correct the road points. The head of the Mamuju Public Works Office, Salihi Saleh, guaranteed that road repairs will be carried out today. "Actually, the road that has long been proposed to be a national road will be repaired with improved road status," he said.
But said Salihi, funds from the central government have not been allocated, because in the same year there were earthquakes and tsunamis in Central Sulawesi. As a result, the allocation of funds was diverted to disaster. "Even so, the construction and maintenance of infrastructure will still be done with planning and review of location points based on aspects with priority scale," he said.
In addition, Salihi said road repairs had been scheduled beforehand. However, the heavy equipment intended to carry out the road maintenance process, some time ago had to be converted to assist in the process of normalizing the impact of the flood disaster in Kalukku District. That makes road maintenance delayed. However, he stressed that today he had pulled the heavy equipment to immediately repair the damaged road.
