Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com - Regent of Mamuju, Habsi Wahid visited the location of a flood in the Kampung Baru neighborhood, Bebanga Village, Kalukku District on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
The visit was made upon arrival from the capital city of Jakarta in order to meet the invitation of the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpan RB) together with all Regents of West Sulawesi.
When getting off the plane at Tampa Padang Airport, Habsi first went to Pammulukang Village, Kalukku District to review the access road which was cut off due to landslides since March 1.
After that, Habsi who was accompanied by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) Mamuju, Suaib and a number of Heads of Regional Organization Organizations (OPD) headed for the worst affected location, namely in the Kampung Baru neighborhood.
During his visit, Habsi monitored a number of schools in the affected areas of the flood that occurred on Thursday, February 28 this. The school included, 2 Kalukku Public Middle School and Kampung Baru Elementary School, in Bebanga Village.
Two schools are filled with material carried by water from upstream, such as wood, stone, mud and sand. As a result, the two schools were closed temporarily, because they could not function after the flood hit.

"God willing, as soon as possible we take action. I have ordered four heavy equipment to be removed to clean the material," Habsi said.
After monitoring the school building, Habsi and his entourage headed for the public kitchen post that was established by the Social Service and Mamuju BPBD to hand over a number of symbolic assistance to several representatives of the residents affected by the flood.
Meanwhile, the West Sulawesi Regional Police Chief, Police Brigadier General Baharudin Djafar who was first at the flood site welcomed the Regent of Mamuju with his entourage.
Baharuddin suggested that the regent first normalize the flow of material buried in the river, before working on the others. "You have to clean the river first. Normalize again, so if there is rain the river is functioning," he said.
