Polman, Sulbarkita.com -- Hundreds of students from Tubbi Taramanu District (Tutar) rallied at the Polman DPRD Office, Jalan Andi Depu, Takatidung Village, Polewali District, Monday, February 24, 2020. They demanded the promise to improve the infrastructure of jalan Tutar that had not visited materialized.
"Some people must be carried to the hospital because of poor road conditions that cannot be passed by four-wheeled vehicles," said one protester.
The Tutar student action had jammed the traffic flow for a dozen minutes, because protesters blocked the Trans Sulawesi road while sitting on the road body. Protesters also carried white banners reading "Alliance Student Turn" using red ink.
The demonstrators were then mediated by the Chairperson of Polman DPRD Jufri Mahmud, Deputy Chairperson Amiruddin, Chairperson of Commission III in Juanda Development, Deputy Chairperson of Commission III M. Rudy and a number of Polman legislators, in the aspirations room of the Polman DPRD Office.

In the mediation, the students also demanded that the board members present the Polman Regent Andi Ibrahim Masdar in the middle of the forum. However, the Polman Regent was in Yogyakarta to receive the Government Institution Performance Accountability award (SAKIP).
"I will accommodate the aspirations of the Tutar community to be conveyed to the Regent of Polman," said the Head of Public Relations of Polman Regency Government, Aco Musaddad through his cell phone video call.
The Chairperson of Polman DPRD, Jufri Mahmud, hopes that the improvement of the Tutar road will be included in regional development planning. "There will be no road work if it is not planned. So if road infrastructure is not good, then it is impossible for a good economy," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Planning, Balitbangren Polman, Gunawan promised to coordinate with relevant officials regarding the status of the Tutar road. "With a letter from the West Sulawesi Government stating the provincial strategic road section is also the authority of the district, we will coordinate," he said.
