Polewali Mandar, Sulbarkita.com - The Department of Environment and Hygiene (DLHK) decided to send fresh air samples at Bahari Beach, Polewali Mandar (Polman) to Makassar for future research. Head of DLHK Polman's Environmental Control and Pollution Division, Muh Yusuf said that it was to match the origin of the air.
"We want to know whether it is natural air or related to suspected leaked PDAM water," Yusuf said when met at his office, Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
According to Yusuf, the words are important because the community is now flocking to pick up air in the coastal area. Therefore the institution moved quickly to access fresh air adjacent to Al Muttaqin Mosque, Wattang Village, Polewali District.
According to Yusuf, a number of DLHK researchers including Yusuf, who went straight to the finals and tried to drink air that could be used as medicine by the local community. The results of these studies and experiments, said Yusuf, made DLHK conclude that air does not contain chemicals.
"Even the suspicion that PDAM water is leaking cannot be ascertained," We also see no chlorine, "said Yusuf," no one has stolen after consuming the water, "he added.
Nevertheless, Joseph's initial guess was that it was pure air or could not be ascertained. Because it is only in one tree around the location, "If there were a lot of trees, I could get a spring from the roots of the tree," he said while asking the public to wait for the results of the air sample research.
Separately contacted, Head of Subdivision of Trandis for Water Piping and Production of Polman PDAM, Farhan said that his party had also taken the air sample to be examined. It can still be done because the research process in the PDAM laboratory continues.
"We will see later whether it is from the PDAM pipeline because there are indeed several pipes in the area," he said by telephone Wednesday, November 14.
Meanwhile the location of the spring is still crowded with people visiting. The air eye still holds bubbles strong enough from the sand. Respondents' answers claimed that there were springs around the location, but they were still there when the waves were being built.
