Majene, Sulbarkita.com - After the polemic over the distribution of rights for exploration of Sebuku Blok Oil (Oil) Oil, in Pulau Lerelerekang Island, heated up again. West Sulawesi Provincial Government finally opened communication with Majene Regency Government.

Majene Regent Fahmi Massiara welcomed the matter. He hoped the dialogue could give a fair enough solution for Majene. Previously, Majane insisted on getting a 50% PI share. "If not achieved in the province, (this problem) will be brought to the Central Government," he said.

The same expectation also came from the Chairman of Majene Regency Council, Darmansyah. He said the dialogue will bring together the wishes of the South Sulawesi provincial government with Majene, "But if there is still a thought dispute, the reference should be to the existing rules."

Lereklerekang Island returned to the public spotlight after the Governor of Sulbar Ali Baal Masdar plans to make the Regulation of Governor (Pergub) related to the distribution of PI allotment by a total of 5 percent.

In the Pergub, the Provincial Government of West Sulawesi received 3 percent, Majene 1 percent, while the remaining 1 percent will be distributed to five districts namely Polewali Mandar, Mamuju, Mamuju Tengah, Mamasa and Pasangkayu.

The policy has drawn protests from Majene as the territory of Lerelerekang territory. Even a number of activists had held a demonstration to urge the Governor of Sulbar failed to apply the policy. "This has deviated from the agreement and the direction of the Vice President in 2015. So it should be rejected." Chairman of HMI Branch Majene Andi Arwin Rahman.
