Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- Majene Resort Police ensured that there were no cases of child abduction in Majene's jurisdiction. The appeal was issued following the rampant information about child abductors lately.
"Until now Majene Police have not received reports related to child abduction cases," Majene Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Irawan Banuaji said in a press release Friday, January 31, 2020.
That was in response to events that shocked residents in the Parappe neighborhood, Kelurahan Sirindu, Pamboang District on Thursday, January 30, 2020. A grandmother was accused by residents of being a child thief. Middle-aged woman with the initials NH, 62 years, almost became a monthly monthly mass.
This resident of Jono Hamlet, Tikke Village, Tikke Raya District, Pasangkayu Regency is now secured at the Pamboang Police Headquarters. NH was secured based on reports from local residents who allegedly wanted to bring a 3-year-old girl.
According to witness testimony, NH was seen holding the boy, but at that time the actions of the perpetrators were spotted by residents who were also still the aunts and cousins of the boy. "The perpetrator then brought the boy into the house and had a few minutes of conversation. He (the perpetrator) said, "I only hold," said Husnawati, the girl's aunt imitating the words of NH.
When at Husnawati's residence, NH also had time to borrow a simcard card opening tool to remove his cellphone card. Husnawati said, NH advised that the community must be vigilant because there are now many cases of child abduction.
"NH then left my house and stood in front of my house. Not long ago, NH tried to escape to the back of the house until it led to one of the gardens owned by residents," said Husnawati.
Husnawati who saw the strange sign then asked for help from local residents to find NH. NH was seen to be about 1 kilometer from his house and immediately boarded a passenger car to leave the location to the north. Residents also reported the incident to the Pamboang Police personnel and immediately pursued the NH.
Residents found NH was in a green Toyota Kijang with a police number of DP 1501 GB. Pamboang Police personnel who managed to secure the perpetrators then interrogated and conducted a search of the NH. The police found a smartphone brand OPPO A57.
The interrogation revealed that the smartphone was stolen by NH at Rahmi's home, a resident of Sirindu Village, Pamboang District, Majene Regency. The perpetrators pretended to ask for help to enter the house to urinate. After the owner left the house, NH took Oppo A57 brand mobile phone that is stored on the dining table. After taking the handphone, NH said goodbye to the house and left by using public transportation.
Alleged kidnapping of children addressed to NH has not yet been proven legally or there are no compliant elements. "But the perpetrators committed other crimes, namely theft of mobile phones belonging to citizens. So currently the perpetrators are being processed for cases of theft not because of child abduction," said AKBP Banuaji.
Banuaji hopes that the community will not be easily influenced by issues whose source is unclear, especially the issue of child abduction that is rife lately. The public is also asked to be smart in using social media by not posting news that is not yet clear of truth or Hoaks, because it can be subject to ITE law.
