Polman, Sulbarkita.com - In order for voter participation to increase, the General Election Commission (KPU) of West Sulawesi Province calls on people to be aware and understand their political rights.
Commissioner of West Sulawesi KPU's Data and Information Division Sukmawati Sila said it had an obligation to protect the voting rights of the community while still reminding and asking to participate in voter education.
A number of provisions, said Sukma, must also be considered by the public so that their political rights can be fulfilled. He said first, the community must obey population administration, for example having an electronic KTP, and be registered in the DPT as a condition for being able to vote.
Both communities understand the rules and prohibitions in elections and understand the procedures in voting at polling stations, "It is also important to choose with conscience refusing hoaks, interventions and money politics," said Sukma in the Socialization of Voters Forum for Family-Based Forum in Nusa Pustaka Pambusuang, Balanipa District, Friday, October 19 2018.
He added that in a number of conditions community political awareness was still quite low. This is evident in every five-year period, both regional head elections and legislative elections, there are still many choices that are irrational, careless, go along, affected by the lure and others.
In front of the Pambusuang community, Sukma hopes that with this socialization the community will understand and be aware of their political rights. So that it affects the voter participation rate later.
