Mamuju, Sulbarkita.com -- Social Service Office of Mamuju Regency together with Lurah Karema visited the residence of Safia's grandmother, 70 years old, a resident of Karema Village, Mamuju District, precisely behind the Ahmad Kirang monument, Thursday, August 29, 2019.
The visit was aimed at responding to a number of posts on social media (Social Media) about the condition of Safia's grandmother who was described as being abandoned and living in a hut in her humble hut.
Secretary of the Mamuju Regency Social Service, Muhammad Hasrul, said that he had received information regarding the condition of Safia's grandmother. But he said, it turns out it was not like what was posted by citizens on Social Media.
"Even so, we still visit the house of Safia's grandmother to be friendly and at the same time distribute a number of staples to her. And the family of Safia's grandmother received our assistance well," said Hasrul through the release received by Sulbarkita.com, Thursday, August 29, 2019.
Head of Karema Village, Rahmat Nur, rushed to directly monitor the condition of Safia's grandmother. This was to clarify the truth of the news. "We do not want to be missed, so we rush to monitor objective conditions on the field," he said.
Meanwhile, Safia's grandmother's family objected to the news about the social media. Masdar, 47 years old, granddaughter of Safia's grandmother explained, in fact his grandmother had 80 grandchildren.
"Through this opportunity I just want to express the objections of our extended family towards people who spread the word on social media. We are still able to take care of our parents even though we are not rich," he said.
According to Masdar, Safia's grandmother was always comfortable when she was in her own residence accompanied by one of her grandchildren. "We once brought it home to live there, but he always drove home by himself on a motorcycle taxi," said the father of 3 children.
The statement was also justified by Safia's grandmother, he even said that it was very difficult to leave the hut which he had occupied for 30 years. "Lots of memories here son. Like love, I've fallen in love here, "he said, smiling.
