Majene, Sulbarkita.com -- Majene Class II B Prison held a health examination of tuberculosis (TB) and the HIV AIDS virus to prisoners (prisoners). This examination was handled directly by paramedics from the Majene Health Office (Dinkes) on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
Prisoners were examined one by one by medical officers. Examinations such as sputum check, blood pressure and blood tests. Head of Class II B Detention Center Majene, I Wayan Nurasta Wibawa said the inspection was carried out to ensure that the detention residents were not infected with tuberculosis (TB).
"Our top priority in this socialization is an appeal to prisoners to maintain a healthy lifestyle about the dangers of tuberculosis and how to cope with tuberculosis," I Wayan Nurasta Wibawa told media crews.
Even though there was no one found in the prisoner who had contracted the TB virus and HIV-AIDS. But said I Wayan, health checks like this really need to be done to anticipate the spread of various infectious diseases in the detention center.
"Once there was a prisoner who was positive for tuberculosis. But in order to maintain transmission, we immediately transferred it to Polewali prison to get better treatment, because we are still lacking in health facilities here, "said I Wayan.
He added that the examination of TB and HIV AIDS was also carried out in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of correctional services. Periodic health checks are also often carried out every 2 times a week to find out about the health development of the prisoner.
In addition to the Health examination, the Prisoners were also given knowledge by the Paramedics of the Majene Health Office regarding the disease. "This examination is an initiative from the detention center itself, the prisoners were very enthusiastic in this activity," said Hasanuddin Wasor, TB of Majene Health Office.
A total of 30 prisoners were taken for blood samples and phlegm on the examination. But until this time, there were no prisoners who had contracted the disease.
