Polman, Sulbarkita.com -- Ballots for the General Elections (Elections) 2019 began to be distributed to the General Election Commission (KPU) of districts throughout West Sulawesi Province. After receiving the ballot, the Regency KPU will do sorting and folding.
Of the six district KPUs in West Sulawesi Province, KPU Polewali Mandar is the work unit that first received ballots from PT. Adi Perkasa, Makassar, South Sulawesi Province. KPU Polewali Mandar received a ballot of 1,556,712 pieces on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at around 9:00 p.m.
Five trucks carrying more than one million ballots were officially received by the West Sulawesi Provincial Election Commission along with KPU Polewali Mandar witnessed by the leadership of the General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) Polewali Mandar in the National building, Jalan Bahari, Polewali.
Plh. The head of the West Sulawesi KPU, Farhanuddin at the pickup location explained, after Polewali Mandar, shipments from the printing coordinated by the Central KPU would continue to Mamasa District and four other districts in West Sulawesi.
Farhan, as he is familiar, explained that Polewali Mandar District was the first region to receive ballots with the consideration that the area was the largest number of voters. According to him, the priority in logistics distribution is an area that is difficult to reach, especially with vehicles.
"In accordance with regulations, one day before voting, the logistics including ballots must already be in the polling station (TPS). So, after sorting it will be folded immediately," said Farhan, who is also the Coordinator of the Legal and Supervision Division, KPU Sulbar.
Meanwhile, Munawir Arifin said, to maximize the remaining time before election day, KPU Polewali Mandar decided to increase the number of ballot folding officers.
"Initially the collector was 350 people, we added it to 500 people. This is our target, sorting and folding the ballots can be completed within a period of four days," said Munawir who is also the Coordinator of the Community Participation Division, KPU Polman.
For sorting, folding and storage, Plh. Chairman of the KPU Polewali Mandar, Andi Rannu explained, in addition to the National building, the Polman KPU also uses the Extraordinary School building (SLB) and the Building of the Horse Race Sport Center Hall, Polewali Mandar.
"Initially we only used one building, but to maximize time, we used three buildings," said Andi Rannu, who is also the Coordinator of the Legal and Supervision Division, Polman KPU.
Also present to welcome the arrival of the ballots were the Executive Director of the North Sulawesi KPU, Farhanuddin, Plh. Chairman of KPU Polewali Mandar, Andi Rannu, Commissioner of KPU Polewali Mandar, Munawir Arifin and Muslim Sunar, Police Chief of Polewali Mandar, AKBP Muhammad Rifai, and Chairperson of Polman Bawaslu, Syaifuddin and Members of Bawaslu Polman, Sumarding.
