Majene, Sulbarkita.com — The Sayyang Pattuqdu Festival or dancing horse is now an annual event for the Majene Regency Government. Head of Cultural Arts and Tourism Division, Majene Muhammad Yassin Djamil, said the Sayyang Pattuqdu Festival is expected to become a main tourist destination in Majene.
"The public's interest in watching this event is also increasing so we are expected to increase our attention to this program," he said when contacted by Sulbarkita.com, Thursday, December 6, 2018.

The Sayyang Pattuqdu Festival was held in Majene on Wednesday 5 December. A total of 48 dancers paraded dozens of elementary and junior high school students around the city of Majene. The students wear Mandar traditional clothes like Pokko Towaine complete with accessories.
This festival is a series of memorials for the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. The students who were paraded were also not careless, because the main requirements were those who were close to the Koran and achievement. So that the elements of culture, religion, and education are united in the event. "We hope that this festival will increase the enthusiasm and motivation of children to worship the Koran," said Majene Regent Fahmi Massiara when opening the event.
Yassin acknowledged the Sayyang Pattuqdu Festival was a show that was not expensive. Evidently this year, the Majene government reached Rp. 70 million for the performance.
Head of the Art Section and Cultural Arts Division of Disbudpar Majene Sri Handayani added that the Sayyang Pattuqdu Festival is expected to be held again next year, "We will propose this program again in the budget plan. The amount of the budget depends on readiness," Sri said.
